Charlie Bell signed an offer sheet a couple hours ago with the Miami Heat, five years, $18 million. The Bucks have seven days to match the deal.
I’m sure Larry Harris is drawing up every sign-and-trade possibility he can think of right now.
The Heat didn’t get Mo Williams, but they may have just snagged Charlie Bell. That’s a lot better than the opposite.

Well, looks like my reasoning about Bell was correct — poisoning the waters with Milwaukee to try and ensure they wouldn’t match — but I got the offering team wrong.
Congragulations to Miami. They overpaid horribly for an adequate reserve player. I love it — they signed Smush Parker and Penny Hardaway, drafted Daequan Cook and now add Bell. At least they have the backup swing guard positions covered for the next several years, and will still be paying Bell when he is 32.
A sign and trade is a possibility here — Miami has 18 guys under contract, so will have to eat some salaries to get under the roster minimum. Maybe Bell for Smush Parker and Alexander Johnson? But more likely the Bucks just let him go.
